Steven Mayoff
I acknowledge that as a settler on Epekwitk/Prince Edward Island since 2001, I have the privilege of making my home on unceded land that has been inhabited and cared for by Mi’kmaw First Nations for thousands of years, and to which they have certain rights, which continue to evolve through the reconciliation process. I also acknowledge that as a natural born citizen of what is now called Canada, I have called home and lived most of my life on a land that has been inhabited by various First Nations who have been here long before settlers arrived, and who continue to assert their rights to the livelihood and culture their ancestors once knew.
